Una sebe, así se denomina en León, es un seto, habitualmente vivo, aunque no siempre, formado por una trabazón de ramas, varas flexibles, palos y zarzas, apoyado en árboles de gran porte, que se ha venido empleando en todas las comarcas del viejo Reino para cerrar huertos, campos y sobre todo, prados. Aparte, la sebe es un formidable hervidero de vida vegetal y animal.
